Head Swim Coach – Massey Park Pool, PAPAKURA
Massey Park Pool is seeking an experienced Head Swim Coach to lead and develop our Papakura Swim Club Swimming programme across a range of ages and abilities from our junior squads through to our existing high performing NZ representatives.
The Head Swim Coach will have:
A sound technical understanding of all four swimming strokes. They will follow our very successful seasonal training plans, targeting regional, national and international competitions, and lead daily swim training sessions. The Head Swim Coach will be required to lead, manage and mentor all junior coaches. The position is full time permanent salaried with a minimum of 40 hours per week, including but not limited to planning, land training and poolside coaching, administration, communication and personal and staff development.
Duties and Responsibilities
· Initiates, develops and maintains positive relationships with participants and parents
· Responds to new incoming swimmers enquiries as necessary
· Welcomes each participant to each session and records attendance. Swimmers who are not registered are to be welcomed and encouraged the participate.
· Deliver swim programmes that are relevant for the squad’s ability, provide feedback to individual swimmers, and be passionate about delivering each swimmer’s abilities
· Work alongside SwimMagic Swim School – Massey Park Aquatics Ltd to create a strategic plan detailing growth, direction, marketing and performance of all Squad levels and a pathway from Learn to Swim to Club
· As Head Swim Coach there will be swim meets in weekends and holidays that attendance will be required.
Qualifications/Experience/Attributes
Applicants for this position must have NZ residency or a valid NZ working Visa and a clean Police Vetting record.
Massey Park Pool is looking for an exceptional coach who is passionate about swimming, self motivated, works well with others and has excellent communication skills. This person will have a positive attitude to aid the growth of this currently successful programme of 40+ swimmers from Junior 2 day sessions through to Youth 10 sessions. The Coach must also be able to provide specialist swim training for regional and NZ Swim Club representatives and for Massey Park Pool , as a leading community based swim training facility.
The applicant will have relevant NZ swimming qualifications and a minimum three years experienced coaching at a senior level.
